Marine Drugs, a journal on the research, development and production of drugs from the sea, including marine natural product chemistry: ISSN 1660-3397 (electronic), CODEN: MDARE6, Journal DOI: 10.3390/md. It is published online quarterly. Copyright © 2003-2008 by MDPI. According to ISO-4 regulation, the abbreviated title of this journal is Mar. Drugs.
Marine Drugs is abstracted very rapidly by Chemical Abstracts, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA), Thomson Reuters Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI, including Web of Knowledge, Web of Science, Journal Citation Report and other Thomson Reuters products; since 2005), Biochemistry & Biophysics Citation Index, PubMed Central Archive (since 2007) and PubMed/MEDLINE (since 2007).
Impact Factor: the first impact factor for Marine Drugs is 1.103 in 2007. 
  • oa - free for readers, with low publishing fees paid by authors or their institutions. The open access publishing fees are 800 CHF (Swiss Francs; 1000 CHF for papers submitted after 1 August 2008) per paper for well-written papers and 1050 CHF (1250 CHF for papers submitted after 1 August 2008) in total per paper for those papers that require extensive additional formatting and/or English corrections. The increase in the processing charges is due to the necessity of producing full-text XML versions of the articles for archiving in PubMed Central.
  • Rapid publication: accepted papers are immediately published. Well-written papers have been reviewed and published within 6 weeks.
News:
1 March 2008: we start to add DOI numbers forl published papers.
17 April 2007: MDPI granted open access to all papers previously published in the "Subscribers Area". The journal is now fully open-access again.
