Call for Papers Special Issue Intelligent Sensors The objective of this special issue is to provide high quality research results on intelligent (or smart) sensors. Full research papers with new results or a comprehensive review of the state-of-art of intelligent sensors and their applications are encouraged for submission. There are no restrictions on the topics of interest of this special issue. Authors are encouraged to submit experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible of their research on this topic and/or their industrial applications (but not limited) to: automotive, consumer, environmental, medical, biological, chemical, electrical, mechatronics, robotic, nautical, aeronautical and space measurement systems. In addition, authors who are working on intelligent materials are encouraged to submit full research papers. Because SENSORS has been a free online journal (an Open Access journal at http://www.mdpi.org/sensors), papers published will receive very high publicity. Papers published in SENSORS are rapidly indexed by databases including ISI's Web of Science (Impact Factor is 1.208). The Open Access publishing, supported by authors, is also much less costly for scientists who are readers and authors of journals, see http://www.mdpi.org/oaj-supports.htm for details. Since last year, publication free of charge for authors is also provided. However, the papers published in this way will be non-Open. Because SENSORS has been a well-known Open Access journal, we prefer Open Access publishing. For review papers, the title and a short abstract can be sent to me as soon as possible. I would like to invite you or through you other coworkers and researchers to contribute papers. You may send your manuscript soon or by 30 May 2007. Papers accepted can be published immediately before this deadline. Finally, all the papers belonging to this special issue will be gathered together in a homepage. Therefore, you may submit your paper now. This journal maintains a rigorous and fast peer-review system. Well written papers have been peer reviewed and published in one month. Please send your paper by e-mail to sensors@mdpi.org and send a copy to whernan@ics.upm.es. The subject title of the message should be "Manuscript for Special Issue Intelligent Sensors for the journal SENSORS". Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
