Starting from volume 4, 1999, Molecules (ISSN 1420-3049) will change the two-column layout to a one-column layout. The font size will be increased from 10 pt to 12 pt for the main text.
We are making this change because Molecules is an electronic journal. The font size of 10 pt is too small for online reading. The two-column page is very inconvenient for copying a paragraph from one of the two columns in a pdf file: if you copy part of one column, an unwanted part on the same lines in the other column will also be included.
We will continue to publish papers in pdf format. Also papers in a one-column layout can be easily converted to the prevailing one-column html format.
