The International Symposium for Chinese Medicinal Chemists (ISCMC) is sponsored by Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and Chinese Medicinal Chemists of Hongkong, Taiwan and Occident, held every two years. The first ISCMC was held successfully during July 19-23 1998 in Taipei and organized by the School of Pharmacy of Taiwan University. The second ISCMC will be held during October 15-19, 2000, in Chengdu, and organized by School of Pharmacy of the West China University of Medical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Association of Sichuan. You are cordially invited to participate in ISCMC 2000 and have an opportunity to listen to the reports of famous chinese scholars.

The Symposium will include plenary and invited lectures and poster presentations on the latest developments in these fields.

1. Design of medicinal molecular.
2. The relationship between structure and activity.
3. New synthetic methodology.
4. Combinatorial Chemistry and High Throughput Screening (HTS).
5. Discovery of new lead compound and new biological targets of drug action.
6. Isolation, structure elucidation and synthesis of bioactive natural products.
7. Molecular pharmacology, moleculariology related to Medicinal Chemistry.
8. Research and development of new drug.
9. Outlook to Medicinal Chemistry in 21st century.

All persons wishing to participate in the symposium are kindly requested to return the attached reply card (or a copy) no later than April 20, 2000.

The second circular containing the list of Organizing Committee members, list of reporters and a registration form, an abstract form for papers and an application form for hotel reservation will be mailed to registrants during May 2000.
